What is DISC?
The DISC model is a behavioral assessment tool based on the theory of psychologist William Moulton Marston, which centers on four different personality traits.
The 4 Traits
1. Dominance (D)
- Focus: Results, bottom line, confidence.
- Strengths: Direct, strong-willed, forceful.
- Challenges: Can be impatient or insensitive.
2. Influence (I)
- Focus: Relationships, influencing others, enthusiasm.
- Strengths: Optimistic, magnetic, enthusiastic.
- Challenges: Can be disorganized or impulsive.
3. Steadiness (S)
- Focus: Cooperation, sincerity, dependability.
- Strengths: Patient, good listener, calm.
- Challenges: Can be overly accommodating or resistant to change.
4. Conscientiousness (C)
- Focus: Quality, accuracy, expertise, competency.
- Strengths: Analytical, systematic, precise.
- Challenges: Can be overly critical or indecisive.
