The RIASEC model, also known as Holland Codes, is a theory of career and vocational choice based on personality type. Developed by psychologist John L. Holland, this theory suggests that people and work environments can be classified into six different types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional.
Holland's theory proposes that people are most satisfied and successful in work environments that match their personality type. The closer the match between a person's interests and their work environment, the more likely they are to be satisfied and successful in their career.
Realistic individuals are practical, hands-on problem solvers who prefer working with objects, machines, tools, plants, or animals. They enjoy creating, building, and fixing things and value concrete approaches to problem-solving.
Investigative individuals are analytical, intellectual, and scientific. They enjoy research, mathematical or scientific activities, and solving abstract problems. They prefer thinking over doing and value knowledge and learning.
Artistic individuals are creative, original, and independent. They prefer unstructured environments where they can use their creativity and imagination. They enjoy self-expression through art, music, writing, or other creative outlets.
Social individuals are friendly, helpful, and trustworthy. They enjoy working with and helping people, teaching, or providing care. They prefer solving problems through discussions and teamwork rather than working alone.
Enterprising individuals are energetic, ambitious, and sociable. They enjoy leading, persuading, and selling. They prefer taking action rather than thinking and value status, power, and material wealth.
Conventional individuals are organized, detail-oriented, and methodical. They enjoy working with data, maintaining records, and following clear procedures. They prefer structured environments with clear expectations.
Our RIASEC test measures your interests across the six personality types. Based on your responses, we calculate your score for each type and identify your primary, secondary, and tertiary types. These results help us suggest career paths that align with your personality profile.
We offer both a comprehensive 60-question assessment and a streamlined 30-question version. The full test provides the most accurate and detailed results, while the streamlined version offers a quicker assessment for those with limited time. Both versions provide valuable insights into your career interests and personality type.
